So let's get started

I couldn't waste a perfect day yesterday it was just to nice out. My blood sugars have been great lately so gearing up for the riding season should be easier than last year, hopefully. I went out yesterday, I know it will sound funny, but walked close to 3 miles. I'm determined to get out and do something no matter how minor it may seem.

I'm still waiting for all of the accessories needed for the new MTB to be delivered (gloves, helmet, etc.) once I have these rather critical pieces I will make the journey up to Ray's to put my bike through the paces and hopefully break it in and not break me. Please keep your prayers coming for warmer weather, maybe we can get some here.

Also, if anyone has a lead on where I can get any sort of bike rack for a 2008 VW Jetta 4D with a spoiler on the trunk, please let me know. It's been a SOB to find.

Yes it does!!!

Yes, my bike does look better in my living room than in the catalog!!! Now, if I can only do something about the weather.

See for yourself:

Pain is....

going to the bike shop only to see your bike in a box waiting to be assembled. Can I have a work stand to do it myself??? Yes last night was painful. :(

However, the crazy look in my eyes is due to the fact that I will be picking my bike up directly after work. :)

Yes, I feel like a kid again!

I can't wait for my bike to get here so I can pick it up!!! Just like any sport, whether it be the new pair of LeBron's to be released by NIKE or the NFL draft. I can't wait to get the new piece of equipment in my hands!!! The final verdict: Trek Fuel Ex 8

Update

I forgot to mention, this week I saw my Endocrinologist. Everything is going so well on the pump that she said I don't need to come back for 6 months instead of the 3-4 that I've been on! She also gave me a prescription for Lantus to go off the pump for my sisters wedding in Jamaica. It will make going out of and getting back into the US a hell of a lot easier!!!

Drum roll please....my A1C was....6.4!!!! Not as good as 6.1 like last time but freaking ridiculously awesome nonetheless.

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!

Woohoo!

It would be like King Arthur without his sword! Still suspect about the whole situation but glad it ended well.

Thoughts

Don't want to get too political here but the definition of Socialism is any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods. Amoungst others.

Take a look at where the car industry in America is heading. Even if America actually made cars with enough quality that I would consider buying one, it's my freaking choice to by foreign. I would take my VW Wolfsburg Jetta over pretty much any comparable American car. It's built in Germany by people who love automobiles, what's so wrong with that?

As the automotive industry strides to a more socialist, government-regulated state. I advise people to take a look at the underlying cause they are supporting by stating Americans buy from America. Oh, and welcome to 1950!

V-Day

Valentines Day was amazing! Molly and I exchanged gifts on Friday because Saturday morning I was heading home to help out the family and she was digging into a paper she was working on for her Masters degree. She got me a freakin' awesome pair of FOX mountain biking shorts and a DVD! I got here a necklace, a shirt to replace the one my dog ate :( and a some more fun stuff!

Kick ass shorts:

After we were done for the day I cooked Molly and myself dinner, stuffed chicken parmesan!

Dinner:

So Close Yet So Far!

Ok, here's the deal. I've been saving since September, roughly, to get a new mountain bike and I'm so close I can taste it! I have the money now but the bikes, Trek Top Fuel 8, are not going to be in the store until early next month. It's the old hurry up and wait story. **sigh** Soon enough my friends, soon enough.

Guess Who's Back???

Nope, not sexy, just me! Sorry I've been out of touch for so long. I've been keeping up with everyone's blogs though don't worry! I'll give you the rundown.

Hmm...where to start:
Brother: Went out to Dave and Busters with him and my parents and had a flippin blast! He is getting to his last few rounds of chemo! Keep your prayers coming though, he still has to pass all of his tests. He has left the wheelchair and the walker in the dust, upgrading to a cane and soon to nothing at all. The Dr's also said he could be driving before summer possibly! Nothing like getting your freedom back at the age of 20!!! Not bad for a guy who is down to one quadriceps in his right leg. Does that make it a unicept??? Kevin is also back in college taking psychology, sociology and history on-line for the Spring. Maybe this summer he can get back to the classroom! :)

Work: Got back from a trade show/conference in DC last Wednesday that was held at the Gaylord National. Awesome facility! Long days though, my day started at 6am and ended at 1am. A freaking boatload of networking was done by your truly with clients and tire dealers from all across the US and Canada. Now things are slowly starting top even out with less 10-14 hour days of work.

Molly: My time with Molly has been a blessing. She is everything I could ever want or need in a girlfriend. Incredibly supportive, cute, funny, just simply amazing! I'm glad to have her in my corner for whatever life throws at us! :)

Diabetes: Had my Dr. appt. this morning where she did nothing but rave about how well I was doing on my insulin pump. She said if some people were half as involved with their pump as I am she would see less complications. Truthfully, the complications scare the shit out of me enough to be proactive. Who wants to go blind, have kidney failure, be an amputee or die simply because they didn't take care of themselves. Not this guy that's for sure, I've got way too much to live for and I'm wayyy too young for any of that!

Family: Good! Everyone is gearing up for my sisters wedding in Jamaica!!! I just hope they have enough rum on that little island for me! lol it will be good for everyone to go on vacation, especially my parents and brother! My Dad is looking forward to working on some projects around the house that we had to put on hold. I'm looking forward to helping him and my brother with those things!!!

Bike: I've made my decision. My new MTB will be......Trek Top Fuel 8! I'm wicked excited to get it and start riding. The first race of the OMBC is March 29th. Hopefully I can put some miles on it before then but it will be nice to get a race under my belt early in the season!

Sorry for the long blog, I'll try to keep them coming more often! Thanks for stopping by!
